OBSERVATIONS

The striking triangular shape which appeared in the Viking image of 1976, seemed then to be a strong sign of possible artificial design. More recent pictures reveal a very different character to this feature, but which still show a highly interesting and enigmatic structure.

POTENTIAL FOR AN ARTIFICIAL STRUCTURE

Rounded northern edge with straight eastern edge leading to a sharp right angle. Several features display an inherent harmonious layout.

COMMON EXPLANATION

A remnant massif formed by geological erosion.
